A bicycle v. vehicle accident left the bicyclist in critical condition Sunday night in Santa Ana.
The accident happened just after 6:15 p.m. in the 100 block of North Euclid. According to Sgt. Richard Gatto of the Santa Ana Police Department, the cause of the accident is still being investigated. It is not known at this time whether the bicyclist was traveling on the street or in a crosswalk when struck.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene to talk to police. No citations or arrests have been reported.
The bicyclist was transported by ambulance to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he underwent surgery for his injuries.
