On Tuesday, an elderly driver drove the wrong way on I-15 and smashed into another vehicle.
The accident happened about 10:45 a.m. An 85-year-old woman, driving a 2007 Corolla, was driving northbound in a southbound lane on Interstate 15, near the Bear Valley Rd. onramp. She slammed into a 1993 Cadillac Eldorado, killing its driver, a 67-year-old man.
The wrong-way driver was traveling at about 70 mph when she hit the Cadillac. The Cadillac was knocked into a third vehicle.
The wrong-way driver, a resident of Victorville, was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The Cadillac driver, a resident of Hesperia, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the third vehicle was not injured.
