Three pit bulls attacked a woman in Riverside Monday night.
The dog attack happened about 10:20 p.m. Leesa Lyon was walking with her teenage daughter inside their apartment complex in the 3900 block of Pierce St. As they walked from their car towards their apartment, three pit bulls charged the two women.
The mother positioned herself between the dogs and her daughter, and told her daughter to run. The daughter ran to the car and called 911. The mother suffered bite wounds on her thigh and buttocks. Lyons then drove herself to a local hospital, where she was treated for the dog bite wounds.
The pit bulls, owned by a neighbor, have been quarantined, pending a dangerous-dog hearing.
If you have or a loved one has suffered injuries in a dog attack, you should speak with a personal injury attorney regarding your right to compensation. Dog attacks can result in serious injuries, often requiring plastic surgery. Dog bite victims are frequently attacked by a neighbor's or relative's dog. You may be hesitant to make an injury claim against a neighbor or relative. You should know that if the dog owner has homeowner's or renter's insurance coverage, it would be the dog owner's insurance company which pays your injury claim. A dog bite lawyer at McGee, Lerer and Associates is available 24/7 for a free consultation. We have offices in Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Pasadena and Long Beach.
