A crash on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu on Sunday left a motorcyclist injured.
The accident happened about 12:45 p.m. on westbound PCH, approximately 300 ft. from Paradise Cove Rd. A motorist in the left lane changed lanes into the right lane and struck the motorcycle rider.
The motorcyclist suffered a compound fracture of the left leg. He was transported by helicopter to UCLA Medical Center.
Dangerous traffic conditions at PCH and Paradise Cove have been an issue recently raised to the Malibu City Council by Malibu residents. The summer tourist season has created a dangerous mix of heavy traffic and pedestrians in the area, and insufficient parking. According to Malibu Public Safety Commission member David Saul, "[it]t is very dangerous. It is an accident waiting to happen."
