A bicyclist was struck by a left-turning driver in Monrovia on Wednesday.
The accident happened about 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Royal Oaks Dr. and Bradbury Rd. The bicyclist was westbound on Royal Oaks. The driver was eastbound on Royal Oaks, turning left onto Bradbury.
According to Police Lt. Nels Ortlund of the Monrovia Police Department, the driver claimed he didn't see the bicyclist because the driver had sun in his eyes. The driver of the car was cited for making an unsafe turn.
The bicyclist was transported to Methodist Hospital in Arcadia to be treated for his injuries.
