A pedestrian was struck and killed by an SUV in Garden Grove on Tuesday.
The accident happened just before 7 p.m. on Magnolia St. near the Ernest Fulsom Dr. intersection. The victim, 60-year-old Diep Nguyen, a female Garden Grove resident, was struck by a Toyota Rav4 in the right lane on southbound Magnolia St.
Nguyen was pinned beneath the SUV's right front wheel. Garden Grove firefighters had to extricate her from beneath the vehicle. Nguyen was transported to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where she was pronounced dead.
The SUV driver, who was the one who called police to report the accident, did not appear to be intoxicated, according to the Garden Grove police department.
