Six people were injured in a head-on crash on the Seal Beach Blvd. overpass above the 405 freeway.
The accident happened on Wednesday about 5:10 p.m. Three vehicles were involved in the pile-up: a Ford Explorer, a Ford Expedition and a pick-up truck.
According to Orange County Fire Authority spokesman Capt. Marc Stone, two of the vehicles were speeding and slammed into each other head-on, causing one of them to crash into a third vehicle. Based on the damage, the two vehicles which crashed head-on may have been speeding, according to Capt. Stone.
Firefighters had to cut two of the victims from the wreckage.
Six people, including a family of four, were transported by ambulance to local trauma centers. Two of the six were critically injured.
