A suspected drunk driver crashed into a laundromat in downtown Los Angeles, injuring a passenger.
The accident happened just after midnight early Monday morning. The driver, a 27-year-old female, was speeding on Venice Blvd. in a black Honda Accord. The driver lost control of her car and slammed into a parked van with enough force to cause the van's airbags to deploy. The driver's car then careened into a laundromat near the intersection of Venice and Magnolia.
There were three passengers in the Honda. All four occupants of the vehicle were transported to a local hospital. A 17-year-old passenger in the car suffered the most serious injuries. No one in the laundromat was injured.
According to police, the driver will be booked for DUI. Her blood alcohol level may have been twice the legal limit.
