A multi-vehicle collision in Oxnard on Monday left one victim dead and six victims injured.
The accident happened at about 11:49 a.m. on Victoria Ave., south of Gonzales Rd. Jill McDonald, a 52-year-old Oxnard resident, was driving a BMW southbound on Victoria. For unknown reasons, she crossed a dirt median and went into oncoming lanes. McDonald slammed head-on into two vehicles traveling northbound on Victoria.
McDonald struck an SUV being driven by Roberto Ramos, a 60-year-old Oxnard resident. Ramos suffered leg injuries and chest pain.
McDonald also struck a Pontiac Sunbird being driven by Donna Leitte, a 62-year-old Oxnard resident. Leitte had four children in the car, all between the ages of 3 and 5. Leitte and the children had minor injuries.
Driver McDonald was pronounced dead at the scene.
