A two-vehicle crash on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu sent one driver to the hospital.
The accident happened on Thursday at 5 p.m. The female driver of a red car which was parked on the shoulder of westbound PCH attempted to make a U-turn from her parking spot. The male driver of a beige car heading westbound on PCH unsuccessfully attempted to swerve to avoid her car. The cars collided and both came to rest near the median lane.
Both drivers were injured in the accident. The female driver was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. The male driver suffered a wrist injury.
PCH, also known as "Blood Alley" because of its high accident rate, is one of the most dangerous highways in the country. Illegal U-turns are a common cause of accidents on Pacific Coast Highway.
