Three people were killed in a head-on crash on Pacific Coast Highway in Ventura early Tuesday morning.
The accident happened about 12:10 a.m. on PCH just north of La Jolla Canyon in Ventura, and just south of Mugu Rock. Witnesses reported that a black Mercedes was speeding northbound on PCH when the driver lost control of the car. The car spun counter-clockwise and slammed head-on into a Honda traveling southbound on PCH.
The force of the impact cut the Mercedes in half. The Mercedes' driver was partially ejected from the car.
The driver of the Mercedes, a male, was declared dead at the scene. Two males in the Honda were also declared dead by emergency responders.
