Multi-Vehicle Crash – Who Pays?
When multiple vehicles are involved in a car accident, resulting in multiple injuries, there will likely be an issue as to whether there is enough insurance to pay for everyone’s injuries and bills. If only one driver is at fault for the entire crash, and many people are presenting injury claims, then there is a good chance that the at-fault driver will not have sufficient insurance coverage.
If the at-fault driver did not have enough insurance, then an injury victim may be able to make a claim under their own auto insurance policy, if they have uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage.
At McGee, Lerer & Associates, we recommend that everyone have uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage of at least $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident.
